Hundreds Of Fentanyl Pills, Weapons Seized During Drug Bust In Maryland, Sheriff Says

A convicted felon is facing fresh charges in Charles County following a search and seizure of his Indian Head home that led to the recovery of drugs and weapons, the sheriff's office says.

Carlos Leon Baker, 35, was arrested on Wednesday afternoon following an ongoing investigation into drug dealings in the area, authorities announced on Thursday, May 16.

According to a spokesperson from the Charles County Sheriff's Office, on May 15, detectives executed the search warrant at Baker's Jameson Court home in Indian Head, where they recovered two handguns, more than 500 fentanyl pills, and a "large amount of cash." 

Baker was arrested during the bust and charged with possession with the intent to distribute narcotics, illegal possession of firearms due to a previous felony conviction, possession of a firearm during a drug trafficking crime, and other related offenses.

He is being held at the Charles County Detention Center without bond.
